Morgan made a lot of fans angry with another sudden concert cancellation. This time, he was feeling sick and decided not to go through with a big show on his latest tour. Why did he cancel and what do his fans think of his behavior? Here’s what we know:
Morgan Couldn’t Make it
Morgan broke a lot of fans’ hearts (and their wallets) again by canceling yet another show at the very last minute. According to Bro Bible, he chose to call the event off less than an hour before the doors were set to open. Obviously, fans weren’t very happy about the surprise cancellation. Morgan simply released a statement about the canceled event and the new date it would be rescheduled for. According to Bro Bible, his statement read:
“I hate to reschedule shows but I powered through being sick in Tampa last night, and unfortunately woke up feeling way worse today. I would not give you guys anywhere near 100% tonight and as a result, I need to move tonight’s Tampa show to Oct. 4 and next week’s Charlotte shows to Oct. 18 and 19.”
Back in 2023, Morgan pulled a similar stunt when he began to lose his voice. He canceled a show in Mississippi on very short notice and issued a public apology on social media. According to CNN, his public post said:
“After last night’s show I started losing my voice so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better. I really thought I’d be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to showtime, but my voice is shot and I am unable to sing. […]
All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could.”
Some Fans Supported Him
Although there was plenty of outrage at the sudden cancellation of another one of Morgan’s concerts, he has also received a lot of support from his fans.
On Reddit, some people have pointed out how he needs to rest and was probably ill at the time that the event was canceled. One post had the following to say about the situation:
“Why is it so hard to believe someone would honestly be sick?…there’s 365 days in a year, I would say Morgan Wallen probably works all of them in some way, shape or form…the body requires rest, let the guy rest!!!…it was probably canceled last minute due to all the nonsense that goes into canceling a show THAT big, as well as the guy probably trying to make everyone happy and not wanting to disappoint.”
Jelly Roll to the Rescue
Although Morgan’s show was canceled, Jelly Roll (his opening act) came up with a last-minute concert at the Dallas Bull club for anyone with a ticket to the original show, According to USA Today. He posted his plans on social media, stating:
“Dear Tampa – I am working hard to put together something for y’all somewhere tonight – stay tuned.”
